Tito and Bongo versus the Werewolf is a personal project. It's a YA adventure/suspense book where a pair of adventurers travel through the small towns of inner Brazil after monsters and mysteries.
This illustration is the cover of the first of these books, trying to showcase a key moment from the novel where all the main characters and the relationship between them could be summed up in a single image.
After selecting the moment and designing the characters, drawing the image itself was a relatively easy part of the process. The lineart came out quickly, as the idea for it was fairly well rounded up at this point.
The coloring process took far more time, as we tried to set the exact right tone and atmosphere of the scene. In the end, the resulting image was pretty successful in expressing everything it was meant to depict.
